Nigerian international, Victor Boniface has shared his excitement after scoring for the first time in the UEFA Champions League.
The 23-year-old scored in Bayer Leverkusen’s 1-0 victory over AC Milan at the BayArena on Tuesday night.
Boniface slotted home on 51 minutes after Mike Maignan parried Jeremie Frimpong’s shot onto his path.
“As a striker, it’s important to score every game not just in the Champions League but every game. We try to do our best every game – the league, Cup and Champions League,” the Nigeria international told TNT Sports.
“I’m happy I got the first goal in the Champions League so I feel really proud of myself.”
Boniface has scored four goals across all competitions for Bayer Leverkusen this season.
