Emmanuel Odigie, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP ‘broke down in tears’ during an interview on national TV after the party lost to the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the just-concluded governorship elections in Edo State on Saturday, September 21.
APC’s Monday Okpebholor beat his closest rival, Asue Ighodalo PDP and was declared the winner by INEC on Sunday, September 22.
Emmanuel Odigie who was the Deputy Director of the PDP gubernatorial campaign council in the state was on Arise TV this morning where he expressed sadness at the outcome of the election. In his submission, Odigie accused the APC of rigging the election.
According to him, Nigerians flew in from the US to cast their votes for his party’s candidate only for their votes to be dismissed.
