Police operatives in Lagos have arrested two women for alleged sales of newborn twins in the state.
The spokesman for the state police command, Benjamin Hundeyin, said in a statement on Saturday that the suspects, Ujunwa Una and Chinelo Igbechionwu, were arrested by patrol officers from the Ojodu Division stationed at Berger.

He said the children have been placed in the custody of a motherless baby’s home for proper care and medical attention.
The spokesman added that the suspects were arraigned in court on Thursday while efforts to arrest their conspirators are ongoing.
