Giovanni Manna, the Napoli Sporting Director, has confessed that they were initially not open to allowing Victor Osimhen leave the club on loan.
Osimhen was close to joining Premier League giants, Chelsea on transfer deadline day but the move fell through.
The 25-year-old then sealed a season-long loan deal with Turkish Super Lig champions, Galatasaray a few days later.
Manna revealed the Partenopei were forced to allow Osimhen join Galatasaray when they received the offer.
“At the beginning, we were not open to the loan, something that had also been discussed with other teams but then Galatasaray came forward when the market was closed in Italy and we found a solution that was right for everyone. Obviously, we would have liked to sell Osimhen,” Manna told Radio CRC via GOAL.
The forward made his debut for Galatasaray against Caykur Rizespor last week Saturday.
He is in line to make his second appearance against Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce on Saturday.
