The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has issued a warning about impostors who are circulating a fraudulent cloned website designed to deceive and defraud unsuspecting Nigerians.
The commission in a disclaimer issued on Tuesday morning on its X account said that while its official website is https://nddc.gov.ng, the cloned site is using https://nddcgov.com to sway Nigerians and defraud them.
Warning members of the public to be guided and careful not to fall prey to the scams and schemes of the operators of the fake website or any other impostors claiming to represent it, the NDDC stressed that anyone who deals with such persons or entities does so at their own risk and peril.
The commission said, “Our attention has been drawn to a fake website cloned by some mischievous persons to deceive and possibly dupe unsuspecting members of the public.
“We wish to alert members of the public to this fraudulent activity by some dubious individuals who impersonate the Commission through a cloned NDDC website.
“The public should note that while the official website of the NDDC is https://nddc.gov.ng, the cloned site is using https://nddcgov.com.
“We advise members of the public to be guided and careful not to fall prey to the scams and schemes of this website or any other impostors claiming to represent the NDDC.
“Anyone who deals with such persons or entities does so at their own risk and peril. Those who come across these fraudulent activities should report to security agencies for necessary action.
“We urge members of the public to be careful and circumspect when accessing information on the activities of the NDDC.
“For emphasis, the official NDDC website is [http://nddc.gov.ng], and it has a secure connection and a verified domain name.”
