The remains of late Barr. Isaac Omodewu, the chairman of All Progressive Congress (APC) in Oyo State, arrived at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos state, on Thursday, September 12.
The late chairman’s body was airlifted from the United States of America to Lagos, where it was received by family, a delegation of party leaders, and government officials.
Dignitaries at the airport to receive the body include Senator Abdulfatai Buhari (Oyo North), Senator Yunus Akintunde (Oyo South), 2023 APC governorship candidate in Oyo state, Senator Teslim Folarin, former chairman in Oluyole local government, Abbas Aleshinloye, and APC Secretary in the state, Alhaji Tajudeen Olanite among others.
As the body arrived, emotions ran high as mourners struggled to hold back tears.
Omodewu passed away on August 19th in the United States of America after a brief illness at the age of 61 years.
Omodewu’s passing has left a void in the Oyo APC family, and his colleagues and friends are still grappling with the reality of his demise.
The late chairman was a respected figure in Oyo state politics, known for his dedication and commitment to the APC.
The body of the late APC chairman is currently on its way to Ibadan, the Oyo State capital for lying-in-State at Oyo APC Secretariat, Oke-Ado, Ibadan before proceeding for Christian Wake /Night of Tributes by 3 pm and later funeral service tomorrow (Friday), at First Baptist Church, Otu, Itesiwaju LGA.
Party leaders and government officials are expected to attend the funeral rites, which will be a celebration of Omodewu’s life and legacy.
As the Oyo APC family prepares to bid their final farewell to their beloved chairman, they remember his contributions to the party’s growth and development.
