Nigeria women’s U-20 football team, the Falconets have advanced to the knockout stages of the ongoing Women’s U-20 World Cup holding in Colombia.
The Nigerian ladies, who had began their campaign with a 1-0 win over South Korea, were defeated 3-1 in their second Group D game against Germany.
But they bounced back on Saturday night to thrash Venezuela 4-0 in their final group game to advance to the second round.

Amina Omowunmi Bello opened the scoring in the 16th minute and Chiamaka Okwuchukwu doubled Nigeria’s lead in the 28th minute.
The Falconets made it 3-0 just before halftime when Flourish Chioma Sabastine netted in the fifth minute of first half added time.
With the game getting to the final end, Nigeria added one more goal to complete the rout through Joy Igbokwe in the 94th minute.
