Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris swore in 21 local council Chairmen in the state on Monday, September 2.
The ceremony which was held at the presidential lodge in Birnin Kebbi was attended by the governor and top political echelons in the state.
Chief Judge of the state, Umar Abubakar administered the Oath of office to the elected chairmen who are expected to reign for 3 years after it was extended by Kebbi State House of Assembly earlier this year.
Earlier, in his speech, the governor tasked them to live above board by ensuring dividends of democracy at the grassroots level ” now that you are sworn in, commence your job immediately and make sure you impact your people at the community level”.
He directed the new chairmen to go home and swear in their Councilors for immediate and effective commencement of work in all the wards in the state even as he pledged to work with them a hundred percent.
