In the early hours of PDP summons Wike to disciplinary committee over alleged anti-party activities suspected armed bandits killed a police officer and a local vigilante in Sokoto.
Confirming the incident, state police spokesman ASP Ahmed Rufai reported that the bandits ambushed the officers at their checkpoint.
“They ambushed them at the checkpoint at Milgoma junction along Sokoto-Bodinga road and shot them at close range,” Rufai said.
“One policeman, Inspector Eze, was killed while another local vigilante also died in the process.”

Additionally, Rufai confirmed that armed bandits were neutralized on the Sokoto-Isa road. He detailed that in a shootout that occurred on Sunday evening, one AK-49 rifle was recovered from the bandits.
Earlier in August, bandits killed four soldiers and set two military vehicles ablaze in the Gudu Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
The police command also stated it had no information about the reported kidnapping of 150 people in the Gobir Emirate. Recently, Isa Bawa, the District Head of Gatawa in Sabon Birni Local Government, was reported dead while in captivity.
