The ongoing protest by students of the University of Ibadan has brought major activities at the institution to a standstill.
Daily Post reports that academic and non-academic activities in the institution have been paralyzed as a result of the protest.
We had earlier reported that the students of the institution in the early hours of Friday commenced another protest over increment of their school fees.
The protest was ignited as a result of the approval of the increment of the school fees by the governing council of the institution.
Daily Post reports that the governing council of the institution during its meeting held in the institution on Thursday approval the increment of the school fees.
This made the students to announce the commencement of the protest.
It was however gathered that academic and non-academic activities in the institution were paralyzed as a result of the protest.
It was learnt that lectures that were supposed to take place on Friday were not held.
The protesting students were seen going round the faculties in the institution to ensure that no lecture was held.
It was observed that non-academic activities that supposed to take place in the libraries and other facilities were suspended as a result of the protest.
Investigation by Daily Post at the Kennedy Dike library, the main library in the institution revealed that students were not allowed to enter the library as s result of the protest.
The students are still protesting as at the time of filing this report on Friday.
