On Thursday morning, terrorists attacked Mafara town, the headquarters of Talata Mafara Local Government Area in Zamfara State, and kidnapped at least three people.
According to a community source who spoke to SaharaReporters, one of the victims, Zainab, is his niece.
The source said the invasion occurred around 1 am when most of the residents were asleep.
“I received a call about the incident this morning that the bandits attacked my hometown when my people were sleeping. They took away Zainab and two other persons,” the source told SaharaReporters.
He added that the terrorists had not contacted the family.
In another incident that reportedly occurred in Matuzgi village in the same local government area, the security operatives clashed with terrorists which resulted in the death of three residents.
An X user, @Am_Saleem disclosed this on his X page, saying about 25 bandits were also killed during the gun battle with security operatives.
He wrote: “Armed Bandits attacked Matuzgi village in Zamfara State’s Talatar Mafara LGA. Security forces and villagers engaged in a 2 hour gunfight with the attackers, killing 25 bandits, though 3 villagers were also killed.
