The Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang has formed a committee tasked with the responsibility of distributing 20 trucks filled with bags of rice donated by the Federal Government.
This announcement was made during a meeting with a group of youths from the state on August 16 in Jos.
The governor clarified that the 20 trucks contain 25kg bags of rice, contrary to claims circulating in some circles that they are 50kg bags.
Mutfwang further elaborated that the committee comprises representatives from all 17 local government areas (LGAs) within the state.
”This committee consists of all LGA chairmen, Commissioners from each LGAs, representatives of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), and Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI).
”Other members of the committee include, principals of all boarding schools in each LGA, youth and women leaders,
” he said.
Mutfwang, however, observed that the delivery of 20 trucks filled with bags of rice was significantly insufficient.
He assured that the state government would acquire more trucks to guarantee that the aid reaches all vulnerable individuals within the state.
