Gunmen have kidnapped Aribibia Fubara, a director of the Rivers State Internal Revenue Service.
The abduction occurred when the assailants, arriving via a speedboat from the Okirika Waterfront, targeted the Marine Base area of Port Harcourt, the state capital.
Reports indicate that the group of approximately six armed men arrived in a commando-style operation, firing shots into the air to intimidate the public. They quickly identified Fubara, seized him, and fled the scene in their boat.
There had been no communication from the abductors to Fubara’s family as at the time of filling this report.
