The Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has today Wednesday, 16th October, 2019 swore into office, 24 new Commissioners /Members of the Abia State Executive Council after four months of operating with only Information Commissioner.
The inauguration of the new commissioners took place at the International Conference Center Umuahia by 10am.
A release by the Secretary to the Abia State Government, Barrister Chris Ezem, said that Deputy Governor of the state, Honorable Speaker and members of the Abia State House of Assembly are expected to be present at the inauguration.
Others in attendance at the venue are, the State Chief Judge, Permanent Secretaries, Chairmen of Local Government Transition Committees, and other top officials of the State Government.
It will be recalled that the Abia State House of Assembly have recently screened and confirmed all the 24 names of commissioner nominees sent to them by the state governor
The commissioner nominees cleared by the State Assembly include Hon. Chimaobi Ebisike – Commissioner for Special Duties
Chief John J. Okoro –
Mrs. Ojo Loveth Adimoha
Dr. Cosmos Ndukwe – Commissioner for Trade and Commerce
Hon. Ugbaja Theophilus Odionyemfe – Commissionet for Housing
Mr. Onyema Nwachukwu – Small and Medium Enterprise
Sir Gabriel. C. Onyendilefu -Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs
Chief Emeka Ikwuagwu – Commissioner for Works
Hon. D. K. Uduma -Budget and planning, and Barr. Ekele Nwaohammuo.
